Food processing cooling
Blast freezers and food processing refrigeration
We build refrigerated space around your production schedule: receiving rooms, prep areas, blast freezers and blast chillers, specified for the load and coordinated around your operation.

How does a blast freezer or blast chiller work?
A blast freezer or blast chiller pulls product through the danger zone quickly with high airflow and low air temperature, then holds it. Sizing depends on product, pack format and batch size, which is why we start from your production flow rather than a standard unit.
What is included
- Blast freezers and blast chillers
- Receiving, prep and staging rooms
- Refrigeration sized to batch load and pull-down time
- Panels, floors and doors suited to washdown areas
- Installation planned around your production schedule

Installed around your schedule to limit downtime.
Commission
Pull-down and hold temperatures verified under load.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a blast freezer and a walk-in freezer?
A walk-in freezer holds product that is already frozen. A blast freezer uses much higher airflow and capacity to freeze product quickly, then holds it at temperature.
What is a blast chiller used for?
A blast chiller cools cooked or prepared food quickly to a safe holding temperature, which suits commercial kitchens, caterers and food producers.
Can you work around our production schedule?
Yes. We plan the installation and any tie-ins around your production hours to limit downtime.
Do you build receiving and prep rooms as well?
Yes. We build the full range of refrigerated process space: receiving, prep, staging, blast freezing and blast chilling.
